What we are and what we do

We research new software, hardware, aggregate and author tips and tutorials, then present this information as clearly as possible for you, to help resolve pains from the technology you're using (or should be using). Unfortunately we can't offer support for any articles at this time, and the website is not equipped with a proper support forum. If those things would be useful here, please let us know, however, many other websites do a better job with support.

Writing for Pain in the Tech

We're always looking for new writers at Pain in the Tech. We're interested in people passionate about anything technical such as IT, software programming/development, hardware, etc. We like tips, tutorials, reviews, and anything helpful that saves people time and reduces the painful agony experienced when attempting something overly technical.

Our posts try to be analytical but not overly biased. Some writers favor certain software or hardware, and it's OK to express that, as long as you provide alternatives.

The name "Pain in the Tech"

The name "Pain in the Tech" is a pun based on the American English idiom "pain in the neck." "Pain in the neck" describes a person, place, or thing that is difficult or obstinate-the opposite of pleasurable. Many people describe their experience with computer software and hardware as being a "pain in the neck." Our goal is to provide solutions to technology problems (and more), so the name seemed appropriate. Each tip or tutorial on this website attempts to take the "pain in the neck" out of a specific tech.
