iPhone 2.2 to bring Google Street View

Apple has released iPhone 2.2 beta to developers. Some of the reported improvements are a search bar in Safari, the ability to turn off Auto-Correction on the keyboard, and the addition of Google Street View.

The Safari tweak brings the interface on the iPhone closer to that on a computer. Google Street View in Google Maps is thought to be a reaction to this features buzz at the Andriod G1 phone launch event. Over 20,000 users signed a petition for the ability to turn off keyboard Auto-Correction, and Apple listened.

The 2.2 beta does not contain any of the much demanded turn-by-turn directions , copy and paste functionality, or real push email. None of the testers of 2.2 noticed any additional improvements to battery life or connectivity.
